Resident Gap Year/Graduate Assistant
Required from September 2025, for one academic year, we have some fabulous opportunities which are likely to suit either students planning a gap year after A-Levels or University students seeking a study placement as part of their course. We may also consider those who only wish to work for one-term (Autumn term only offered).
The successful candidates will be enthusiastic, able and highly adaptable individuals who may be considering a career working with children and would relish the experience this post will provide. RGAs play an active role in the boarding house and in the provision of sport across the School. Opportunities also exist for those wishing to gain wider experience in developing their own talents and interests, for example in music, drama, art and DT. It will assist successful candidates in their role if they naturally enjoy the company of young people and have a fun-loving disposition that young people can relate to and with which they can feel comfortable.
Experience of working in a busy school environment should prove invaluable for whichever career successful candidates later choose to pursue. At the end of the year, we expect RGAs will have gained confidence, acquired valuable leadership and communication skills, and developed talents in areas perhaps, as yet, unknown!
The position is residential and you will have your own room within a house on the school campus shared with other Gaps/Grads for the duration of your contract. All food will be provided during school term times. There is free parking and use of the school pool and other facilities at specified times.
Please see recruitment brochure for further details.
The successful candidates will be required to undertake an enhanced DBS check at the school's expense.
