On Saturday, 13th May 2023 we welcomed over 100 former pupils, staff and parents for an event to remember our former Headmaster John Keyte, who died last year. Attendees were invited to spectate some of the cricket the children played in the morning, as John often liked to do, and then went on tours around the School with our Year 8 children. Some of those returning had not visited the School in over 30 years.

A lunch was held in the Dining Room, with speeches from Chris Searson, Michael Stevens and son Will Keyte, and guests then spilled out onto the Terraces for coffee and a chance to catch up with those they knew from days gone by in the sunshine. It was a wonderful event to remember John and his dedication to the School, as well as an opportunity for those in attendance to reconnect and reminisce.

Affectionately referred to as ‘Junket’, John had served over 100 terms of service by the time he retired in 1995, and often came back to visit the School in the years that followed.
